Sage Szkabarnicki-Stuart, Cepaea nemoralis, 2020
A Grove Snail (Cepaea nemoralis) makes its way along Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway at rush hour. No one knows exactly when Grove Snails were first introduced to North America from Europe. All but one species of non-native terrestrial snail are considered pests and are banned from Canada. In spite of being illegal to breed, sell, or import, these non-native terrestrial snails are extremely common across Canada and the United States.
